Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Watercolors by Joshy’s FAQ page!
Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about artwork, apparel, commissions, and orders.

1. What is Watercolors by Joshy?

Watercolors by Joshy is a Vermont-based art studio and shop that turns original watercolor paintings into unique wearable art and lifestyle goods. Each design starts as a hand-painted piece by artist Joshy, then becomes part of a limited-run collection available in Joshy’s physical shop and made to order for customers online.

2. Are your products handmade?

Yes! Every Watercolors by Joshy item begins as an original watercolor painting by Joshy and is then turned into wearable art. Pieces are produced in limited runs for the physical shop, and all designs are also made to order for each customer online. Each item is custom printed, hand cut, and sewn—most often at Manual Woodworkers and Weavers (MWW On Demand) in North Carolina using globally sourced fabrics.

3. How long will my order take to arrive?

Production time varies depending on the product. Graphic print T-shirts can often ship within just a couple of days, while more detailed items like sneakers, jackets, or swimwear can take closer to two weeks to complete.
Once shipped, most U.S. orders arrive within 3–7 business days. You’ll receive tracking information as soon as your order is on the way.

4. How tall is Danny DeVito?

National treasure and legendary actor Danny DeVito stands 4'9" tall—and about ten feet tall in spirit. His larger-than-life energy has inspired several of Joshy’s favorite wearable art pieces, celebrating DeVito’s unforgettable presence across decades of film and television.

5. Do you ship internationally?

Yes! Watercolors by Joshy ships worldwide. International orders may take longer to arrive and could be subject to customs fees or import taxes, which are the responsibility of the buyer.

6. Can I return or exchange an item?

*Because each item is made to order, returns and exchanges are not accepted unless there’s a defect or issue with the print or construction.
If your order arrives damaged or with a quality issue, please contact watercolorsbyjoshy@gmail.com within 7 days of receiving your item, including clear photos and your order number, and we’ll make it right.

*You can always message Joshy if you have any issue—even if it’s not a defect—as he may bend the rules to make sure you have the best experience with his art.

7. How should I wash and care for my wearable art?

For best results:

  • Machine wash cold, gentle cycle

  • Tumble dry low or hang dry

  • Do not bleach

  • Avoid ironing directly over printed areas

Care instructions can vary depending on the product. Each product listing includes specific care details if they differ from these general guidelines. Following these care tips will help preserve the color and detail of Joshy’s original artwork.

8. Do you take custom painting or portrait commissions?

Yes! Joshy regularly creates custom watercolor portraits and commissioned paintings.
If you’re interested, please email watercolorsbyjoshy@gmail.com with your idea, size preference, and reference photos.
A 50% deposit is typically required to begin, with the balance due upon completion.

In most cases, yes. Many listings include customizable options such as button color, stitching color, or fabric weight.
